Mishti Doi is very well-known dessert in Western part of India, It’s
one of the most famous Bengali sweet. Here Mishti means Sweet & Doi means
Curd/Yogurt. It’s a fermented sweet yogurt & popular desert specifically
in western part of India. As I’m Odiya so from my childhood I’m familiar with Mishit
Doi as a frequent served dessert which known as Mitha Dahi in Odisha. It’s
quite different from the normal yogurt in terms of colour & taste.

About Mitha Dahi/Mishti Doi:
In India preparing curd is kind of day to day things as maximum
people of India use a small portion of yogurt in their meal. We need very
simple ingredients to prepare Mishti Doi such as Full Cream Milk, sugar/Jaggery.
Caramelise with sugar (for colour & taste) then add milk to it stir it well
till the milk get thick, to make it sweet in taste add sugar/Jaggery then in
the normal process as making yogurt allow the milk to ferment overnight. Generally,
it has to keep in earthen pot for the better fermentation of sweet yogurt.
